To question is the only way to learn. Over the last few years, I have been on a quest to speak to the best minds in the fields of journalism, social sciences, economics, and culture to pick their brains and imbibe as much as I can from individuals who have redefined the fields they are in. Below is a collection of these video and print interviews. Click on the image to watch or read.
I was privileged to speak to Emmy Award-winning documentarian, author, educator, and activist: Ruchira Gupta on the problem of child-trafficking, globally and how small changes at a systemic level and empowerment and education campaigns can break the cycle.
I speak to Barkha Dutt, a role model not just for journalists but for women of all ages. She speaks about her journey as a journalist, the problems she faced as a woman in a world which is skewed towards men, how she deals with trolls and how she has learnt to be secure about who she is and what she believes in.
I am so grateful to have interviewed Ravish Kumar, one of India’s best-known journalists and the winner of the prestigious Magsaysay award. He is known not only for being a television star, but also for raising issues that no one else raises. He spoke to me about media today and what young journalists need to do to prepare for the profession.
During Covid Lockdown, I took part in a workshop with Ms. Anurupa Roy, the founder of the ‘Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust’, and I learnt how to make a puppet theatre in a box.
I asked her a few questions that I had about puppetry and she gave me some very interesting and insightful answers. For anyone who is interested in art, and would like to take it up later in life, Anurupa ma’am gives her input via her passion for puppetry.
